Jasmine is one of the most fragrant of flowers
It grows on a vine and will climb up a trellis or arbor. Night blooming Jasmine are one of a group of flowers that blooms in darkness. These flowers use fragrance rather than color to attract pollinators.
The bible uses imagery of a Watchman on the wall, keeping watch by night to describe prophets and intercessors who serve and protect God’s people. In Revelation prayer is also described as incense on an altar before God. It is a fragrance that draws His attention and compassion towards His people.
The Night Blooming Jasmine is a symbol that for me combines both these elements. Watching, serving, and waiting in the darkness in faith that He will come. Offering up prayers and praises that are sensory and pleasing to the Original Pollinator, the Chief Catalyst of all things prosperous and fruitful in the earth.
